Controlled Atmosphere Stunning with Small Footprint

CAS Pit System

CO2 Stunning Below Ground

In our CAS Pit System the full drawers are gradually lowered into the pit and for each step down, the CO2 concentration progressively increases, creating a gentle and controlled stunning process. This CAS system has the lowest CO2 consumption on the market and a very small footprint in your reception area.

Perfect Timing

Due to a unique conveyor design, the CAS Pit System can be easily adjusted to meet the required throughput of birds per hour. The conveyor system adjusts the number of steps in the pit and the time each drawer remains on each step. The result is a fully optimized CAS stunning process at all times.

Monitoring Animal Welfare

The CAS Pit System is equipped with a patented camera monitoring solution. One camera and four gas sensors capture a real-time overview of the stunning process, the gas gradient inside the pit and bird behaviour.

Easy Production Control

The stunning process is easily controlled from a touchscreen that offers information about system settings, status and alarm history.

The Reception System

Configurable to Suit Your Processing

UniLoad is a modular and scalable reception system suitable for all capacities. The size of the UniLoad drawer allows for more birds in each drawer while still protecting animal welfare. Fewer drawers are necessary and conveyors can run at low speed while still feeding a high-speed slaughtering line. Low speed reduces both bird and equipment stress.

  • Maximized plant throughput
  • Modular to fit capacity and washing requirements
  • Automatic, gentle transport
  • Less wear and tear on the conveyor system

Strict Biosecure Measures

UniLoad takes hygiene seriously by focusing on biosecurity in drawer and module design and by providing highly efficient cleaning equipment for the reception system. To avoid cross-contamination between flocks, the bacterial load on the transport equipment is minimized by thorough wash-down after each live bird load.

  • Separate drawer and module washing for best cleaning result
  • Configurable washing and disinfection units
  • Soaking of drawer before washing to loosen debris
  • Less wear and tear on the conveyor system

All birds are processed using the first-in, first-out principle. This minimizes the handling time of each bird and the time from exiting CAS stunning to reaching the killing machine. The direct result is improved bleed-out and picking performance.
